The library serves medical and paramedical staff, residents of the Nazareth hospital and students of the Nazareth Academic School of Nursing.
The Nazareth hospital medical library was established in 1993 in order to serve the Nazareth Academic School of Nursing and the Nazareth Trust’s medical staff. It is the only library in Nazareth a city of aroung 80,000 inhabitants , and it is considered unique because it provides a medical information for all of nazareth hospitals.
The library is also a member of the medical libraries consortium which is led by Tel Aviv University, the aim of the consortium is to provide support for all hospital libraries that are not affiliated with universities, and help them get better deals from publishers and subscription agencies.
The library strives to keep up to date with developing technologies in order to improve and enhance the services provided.
Our virtual library provides hospital-wide desktop access to online databases, e-books and electronic journals on a 24/7 basis from campus and off-campus.
The library features study space, reading corners and computer stations with a link to local and international information systems, including Wi-Fi connections to the internet.
The library staff is available to provide assistance with searches, facilitate document delivery, offer training sessions, loan books & journals, and assist with preparing applications for academic promotion.
Databases – Cochrane Library, UpToDate, Micromedex, Ovid database, American Academy of Pediatrics, JAMA & Archives, Oxford Journals, Medline-PubMed and more.
